If you are dreaming of a relaxed day by the sea, here are some recommendations of great places where we can go together:
– Tossa de Mar. This beautiful seaside village in the Costa Brava is the only one that has preserved its medieval fortifications in Catalonia. Walking around its beautifully preserved old town is a pleasure. More about this site here.
DISTANCE FROM BARCELONA: 1h15min ride.
ACCESSIBILITY: Easy if we stay in the beach area, but the walk to the Old Town is uphill with cobblestone streets.
*** IVORY FEE: Halday tour (6h – back to Barcelona for a late lunch).
– Hidden Costa Brava. Discover the villages where locals spend their summer holidays when they want to get away of tourists. Small sand beaches between cliffs, calanques and pine-tree forests that almost get to the water.
DISTANCE FROM BARCELONA: 2h ride.
8h Fullday in Tossa OR Tossa combined with Girona.
*** GOLD FEE: 8h Fullday in Tossa OR Tossa combined with Girona.
*** DIAMOND FEE: 10h daytrip combining Costa Brava with Girona OR Dalí Museum OR some archeological site (Empúries or Ullastret) OR the villages of the Empordà county.
– Cadaqués. The long ride to this charming seaside village is well worth. Its white-washed houses will make you feel like you are in Greece. Dalí and many other artists of the early XXth century came here to relax, as you will do.
DISTANCE FROM BARCELONA: 3h ride.
ACCESSIBILITY: Easy. Some cobble-stoned streets in the Old Town.
*** DIAMOND FEE: 10h daytrip combining Cadaqués with the villages of the Empordà county OR one Dalí Museum of your choice (Figueres, Púbol or Portlligat)
